Alright, this month the preparedness goal is water storage – so let’s learn and store. There is never a better time to prepare.
- Here is what FEMA says about water http://www.fema.gov/plan/prepare/water.shtm
- Also, I receive emails from the Ready Store and they happen to have a deal on a 3 month supply of water. http://www.thereadystore.com/frugal-friday?utm_source=rne_ff_20110701–google–organic&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=ck_breakfast%20&utm_content=main This water has a 30 year shelf life – that is amazing. It comes in 6 cases so if you did not want to purchase the entire thing you could split it with 6 people and pay a little over $50 for a case.
- http://www.providentliving.org/content/display/0,11666,7534-1-4065-1,00.html this is another great site that tells about water storage. If you fill your own water you must recycle it every 6 months. So find an event that happens every six months and switch out your water then.
- here is another site if you are looking to purchase something to store water http://beprepared.com/category.asp?c=160&SID=GOOGLE&EID=GLWSC200712010&gclid=CIO3lpOJ4KkCFZQv2godYASyaw
- Neat though – they even have little water boxes like small juice boxes – lightweight and convenient for your emergency kits http://beprepared.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_WS%20P400_A_name_E_Aqua%20Blox®%201%20Box%208%20ounce
- This one doubles as portable sanitation – yes, a water container that you can use as a toilet http://beprepared.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_KW%20S100_A_name_E_Basic%2025%20Gallon%20Boxed%20Water%20Kit sounds kind of strange but imagine using your emergency kit, you are away from home and the conveniences of life – you drank your water – how cool to “recycle” but using the items again!
